Did I mention that I joined a boat club? After 20 years battling that heap of crap Piraya that I told you about, I ain’t owning no more boats!
Did you see the baby?
Having been there and done that too, a boat club sounds like an awesome deal. Mine wasn’t quite as bad as your telling of the demise of the ‘Piraya’ however. Keep us posted, especially if you have any worthy sea stories!
BOAT = Bring Out Another Thousand.
A hole in the water you attempt to fill with money.
Try it in Colorado. Three month season if you are lucky. Then you get to store it. That always works out well. Funny thing is, once you’ve fixed everything, if you use it every day, it’s mostly fine. Skip a few days or a week, watch out! It’s the downtime that kills them, I think.
I’m sure there are more, but that’s my take on it.
I figure I’ll get tired of it in a couple of years. But what I have is expensive, but it’s easy. I took some neighbors out today. The pass between Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key is a popular place to anchor on a big sandbar. On weekends there might well be a hundred boats anchored there. I’ll tell about the area on a later blog. 60 years ago we water skied where there is now dry land. When they first built the bridge there when I was a teenager, we would dive off it into deadly dangerous water until the cops came and chased us away. I’m lucky I’m still alive.
