Ain’t this nice?

About 28 years ago a fan in Sweden made this for me.Really, really nice! Whoever you were, thank you.

Ernie’s cruise is just about finished…

I had to read Moby Dick in the eleventh grade. By the way, Herman Melville was a genius. At least I think so.

  1. Mark Stoffel says:

On a road trip with my son yesterday, I played ‘Nantucket Sleighride’ by Mountain for him. He didn’t know what it was, I helped explain the concept to him. Great song, btw…also for a factual account of 19th C. whaling, ‘In The Heart Of The Sea’ is pretty great, I didn’t care so much for the movie. The author mentions that for the rest of the 1800s and up until the Titanic disaster, the Essex tragedy was universally considered the worst maritime tragedy. I found this book compelling reading.
