Something I really like..

…Are these votive candles. I’m not a Catholic, but I really dig them. I had a really neat one one time. It was a knight on horseback killing a dragon or something. They only cost a couple bucks apiece. You get a candle and a really great picture. The text is usually in Spanish or Italian.

I’m pretty much over my flu bug. Still coughing a little. When I was really sick I had weird confusing dreams. And I’d wake up drenched in cold sweat. I’ve had night sweats before, but this was extraordinary. I would be soaking wet and shivering. I had shaking chills. Headaches and my skin hurt. Much better now, thank you.

I guess some NBA players had been in the crime sheets back when I drew this strip.

I usually have crazy enjoyable dreams all night long. I knew a court artist many years ago. She was very good at it. But every night she had nightmares about bloody murders. Poor thing. I felt so sorry fpor her.

Glad to hear that you are doing better.
I guess that you had some of Effie’s soup to help you.

You bring up a great point about these candles.
You can get them for about a $1 at the Dollar Store.
I have at least 10 in the house.
Sometimes I take the wax out to put into other, more decorative, jars.
Others I use for camping, to make fire starters.
But mostly I keep them spread out around the house in case the power goes out.

Sid would also likely have several around to resell as genuine religious artifacts.

I have a neighbor up north in Maryland who makes fire starters. He uses those cardboard egg cartons, fills them with wax. They work great. As for Sid, that’s a good idea. Once Reverend Bob came back from the Holy Land with water that he said was from the River Jordan. Reverend Bob was one of the very few characters that I based on a real character. That was reverend Ike. Look him up on YouTube.

Reminds me of one of my favorite strips, where a couple of the Piranhas concoct a scheme to dress up as priests and rip off the local nuns…I won’t ruin the suspense but Uncle Sid was WAY ahead of them…classic!!!
