The second winery that we visited was the Prince Michel Winery in Leon, Virginia. It is situated right on the main highway, and not surrounded by vineyards.
It’s more like a roadside store than a winery, although it’s obvious that they make the wine there.
The wine was good and reasonably priced.
The next stop and the last for the day was the Old House Vineyard near Culpepper, Virginia. This was a really neat 19th century farm that they converted into a winery.
We had been drinking wine all day, so we opted to go out back to their beer hall (It looked like a Polish polka hall) and Irish pub that they had just built. Yes, they make their own beer as well as wine. The pub side wasn’t opened yet. It’s a good place to visit.
