Juneau

Now that I’ve recovered my lost photos, I’ll take you back to Juneau. Juneau is the third largest city in Alaska, population around 33,000. Several years ago Alaska wanted to move the capital to Anchorage, but they found that the move would be too expensive.

That’s one big anchor.

There isn’t much in Juneau, it’s mostly a tourist town.

The shops are full of tourist stuff including native craft. You can find this stuff throughout the towns and cities in Alaska.

I was surprised to see this moose head made out of grape vines. Frau Grace bought one for me in New Mexico 15 years ago.

You can even buy a wolf skin.

One tourist bar even had a stuffed muskox and a mounted walrus head.

More to come.

    Hi Bud,

You know, in all the years I’ve never heard mention of the butcher’s name. Do you have one for him?
