Thank God and Greyhound She’s Gone

If you don’t know, that’s a country song by Roy Clark from 1970. And if you don’t know, Greyhound is a bus. Here is Roy singing it on Hee Haw. (One of Frau Grace’s favorite TV shows of all time).

I’m talking about Hurricane Dorian. Unfortunately it looks like the people farther up the
East Coast might get it bad. As I write this, Dorian is a category 5. Let’s just hope and pray the damn thing moves on out to sea.

Here’s a Sunday from September 2, 2001. Effie finally cooks something Sid can eat.

I’m reminded of a song by Swedish singer Anders Glenmark, Greyhound Bus, the refrain of which went ‘tre män sitter i en Greyhound bus, alla bär på en dröm, the American Dream…’ (‘three men are sitting in a Greyhound bus, they all share a dream, the American Dream…’). The song was released in 1991.

When I was young I took many trips on a Greyhound. Remember the Chuck Berry song” Promised Land”? He Sang “The hound broke down and left us all stranded in downtown Birmingham”
