My Christmas tree…

Yes, folks. It’s that time of year. The time of the ANNUAL SLAUGHTER OF TINY LITTLE CHRISTMAS TREES! By now everybody must know what I feel about that! If you don’t know, I’m the world’s most inveterate, pathological tree hugger! I dread this time of year. It breaks my passionate little heart! But it’s Christmas! What do I do? It turns out that my local K-Mart is closing down. That breaks my heart too. That’s where I bought my Plastic… Oh My God! Plastic! Just yesterday I was plastic-shaming a woman at the supermarket. She started trembling and tried to get out of it by telling me that she recycles. Yeah. Right. You know those plastic mesh bags that grapefruits come in. When I get a bag like that I cut it into tiny pieces with sizzors so seagulls at the garbage dump don’t get tangled up. I have two shopping bags I bought in 1992, and I STILL USE THEM! So you can imagine how I felt having to buy a PLASTIC CHRISTMAS TREE FROM K-MART MADE IN CHINA NO LESS!

Geeze. I’m an emotional wreck.

Yep, tough choice. Plastic or real? I lean a bit more toward real, only because it’s renewable. What the heck do you do with a plastic tree when it’s time to replace it?

    Happy holiday everyone!

You know, I’m not kidding. I’m the most pitiful tree-hugger you ever saw. I told this story before. When I was four years old, my cousin , Bobby Joiner who was three years older, was eating caterpillars off our garage wall. This was in Pennsylvania. He offered me one. The only reason I didn’t imbibe was because I felt sorry for the caterpillars.
