Monkey’s fist

I’ve been corrected. the knot is better known as a monkey’s fist. I remember now.

I went out to try to buy toilet paper today. Whew! No luck! I’m worried. I only have about 23 rolls stockpiled.

I also wanted to get some hand sanitizer:

But not to worry. It looks like most of the fatalities are old people.

WAIT A MINUTE! THAT’S ME!

Just buy yourself some adult diapers. We have the same problem in the Houston area as people have gone collectively nuts. On the other hands in the news today a cruise ship left Galveston today with thousands of vacationers aboard. If things go bad should they be allowed to dock or just let them sit offshore for awhile.

Hand sanitizer is easy to make. Vodka and al0e vera lotion, equal parts. You can substitute glycerin for the lotion if don’t like the perfume.

Plus you can drink the vodka and sanitize yourself from the inside out.

Or buy RV Antifreeze, it will do the job. Use straight or cut with glycerin/lotion.

I don’t get the toilet paper craze. I’ve never had to stick by the toilet when I get the flu.

People are worried about having to self-isolate, or having a general lock-down imposed, as has happened in Italy, so that’s why some are hoarding. It’s the same situation here in Ontario, Canada, where I live. As for hand sanitizer, after one uses it one goes back to touching objects such as one’s phone, purse, etc., so is it going to be that effective? Also, prolonged use can damage the skin. Best to be careful of what one touches when out and about, and to keep one’s hands away from one’s face – eyes, nose, and mouth. And you be careful, there, Bud and Frau Grace.

Went to the grocery store today, I’ve never seen it so busy. Lots of full carts and some empty shelves. What really surprised me was the produce section. They were completely out of potatoes. What the heck?!?!

If you’re making your own hand sanitizer, Vodka doesn’t have enough alcohol to work (you need 60%), but it’s a fun answer. Drug stores will have what you need.
Did you hear that those young kids are calling the Coronavirus the “Boomer Remover?” Yikes, that’s me too!

Thanks for all the suggestions. The main way face masks help is they help you to avoid touching your face. If you wore a mask and goggles when you went out it would be very helpful I believe.

      • Lisa Bulger says:

We’ve been told not to wear face masks because most people don’t know how to properly apply them and that it encourages people to touch their faces more because they are adjusting the mask and that wearing a mask provides a false sense of security because they won’t prevent one from getting the virus but can prevent a sick person from transmitting the virus. What to do, what to do…

I think touching your face isn’t so bad as long as you keep your fingers out of your facial orifices. Maybe. If people wore masks and goggles that might help. I’ve got to stop picking my nose. That’s the hard part.
