People are going nuts.

Here’s the toilet paper shelf at Publix…

I’m surprised they had some paper towels. People are going nuts. Consider that here in the USA over 30,000 people die each year from gun shots. 30,000 die each year from the flu. About 36,000 die in traffic accidents. About 480,000 die from cigarette smoke. No big deal. But when a new disease pops up we all go out and load up on toilet paper.

I can see the obvious connection between the world wide toilet paper buying stampede and your comic strip, but we’ve been dudded out of this week’s Sunday special.
Look forward to seeing it when you next post …

Yes, the whole world seems to be going crazy. It’s the same over here in Europe – people are buying all the toilet paper they can lay their hands on. The question is why. If we were to run out of food (which does not seem likely at present), are people going to eat their toilet paper? Is that the plan? I don’t know, but I find it very strange.

I’m fortunate enough to do my grocery shopping at a local store in the center of Örebro, Sweden, that actually still has just about everything one could need. Loads of toilet tissue on the shelves and everything else you might feel an urge to hoard. But; all of a sudden everyone seems to have gone from being regular bread-buyers to DIY home bakers. Or is there a new trend including brewing your very own and most local beer? Anyway, there are hand written signs in the store telling you not to purchase more than a maximum of five tiny packages of yeast per household. How weird is that? Do I live in an area I new nothing about or have people started to bake toilet roles?

Speaking of which (yeast, I mean) This week I intend to make a video about how to make spaghetti. Of course you don’t put yeast in spaghetti dough. But you put it in pizza dough if you make your own. But the dough is the same except you use semolina in spaghetti and regular flour in pizzas. I hope you don’t have any cases in Örebro. We’ve had abpout 12 in my county.
