Welcome to Lizard Land

Lizards are all over the place around here. It’s like one of the plagues of Egypt.

This is from 1995. Sorry, I don’t have the color files for those early strips.

Can’t you gig them and cook them over charcoal, just like a hot dog or a marshmallow? Aren’t you worried that they might mutate into alligators and eat your flip-flops? And their contents?

When I was a kid down here we had cute green anoles. They turned from green to brown like a chameleon. These ugly lizards have displaced them. In the four and a half years I’ve been back down here I’ve only seen one. It’s a shame. These current lizards are like a plague. Egrets eat them. and they eat each other. There was a feral cat that lived in our trailer park. It ate one of the anoles , and evidently they have a neurotoxin. I think. The cat had a twisted neck after that. We also had a lizard that wasn’t common. It was kind of white with blue streaks. There was no way to catch them. They were really fast. But if somebody could come up with a good lizard trap, they’d sell like hotcakes.
