Here’s another good one from Robert R:

Something completely different: In 2003 I launched a new feature. Unfortunately we were in the depths of a big recession, and when the economy is bad it affects all businesses including newspapers. I only picked up about 50 newspapers, and I couldn’t afford to keep this and Ernie going at the same time. It was a daily and Sunday feature. It ran for six months. By the way, this is where my nom de plume came from. I didn’t want editors to know that it was yours truly writing and drawing it.

Neat! Did not see this one back then. Will you tell us the dates it ran? I want to find it on newspapers dot com

I don’t know if you can find it. It was late 2003. The title was Babs and Aldo. There’s a story behind the title.

I found it! Salt Lake Tribune has it on the newspapers.com

I’ll do some research and see what I can dig up for those interested. Wanna share the story behind the title?

No, I don’t think I want to share it. If anyone should make my work available, it should be me, not some paper in Utah. But thanks.

        Hi Bud,

I appreciate the update. Maybe one day you may want to share the strip again in a book. I found it charming and some of your other fans may as well.

        Take care!
        Greg
