But first, Klas sent this link about the Elk Test. It’s a car handling test. In Sweden every year there are about 6000 auto accidents involving moose. What we call moose here is called elg in Scandinavia. We would say “elk”. So the Elgtest is a automobile maneuverability and driver skill test. That is, it’s like trying to avoid a moose in the road. There are maybe 6 fatalities per year in moose accidents in Sweden. The moose are so tall that when a car hits one it knocks its legs out from under it, and it crashes through the windshield.
