Frau G and I went down to the Swordfish Grill in Cortez yesterday afternoon for a cold beer. I think I heard the owner say that is was a 1937 replica, I forget what model. I thought he said it was a Phaeton, but I tried finding it on the web but couldn’t. He said that the grill wasn’t authentic. Can anyone identify it? If you blow up the first picture, the sign above the car reads N.E. Taylor Boatworks. I think that’s Nathan Taylor. I went to high school with him. The other boys I remember from Cortez in my class were Wayne Fulford and Trigger Mora. Those boys were Cortez fishermen. They were really tough kids. I was an Island kid. Island kids were laid back.
I’ll have some book announcements later this week.
I have no idea what kind of car that is, but I gasped when I saw it. Purple is my favourite colour, and that is the most beautiful car that I have ever seen.
Possible a modified Lincoln Zephyr?
I think you’re right. That’s what I think I overheard. The owner said the grill wasn’t right.
Wow!
I have the oddest suspicion that Joker Purple is not the original 1937 color!
