Tuesday: Approaching Durnstein, Austria

You’ll notice that the Danube isn’t blue. It’s more of a greenish brown. The water became clearer the farther east we sailed. That’s probably due to all the locks that slowed the flow. Where we entered the river in Germany the elevation is about 800 feet.

Cruising toward Durnstein

Durnstein isn’t much of a town, but it has old city walls from the middle ages.

There are vineyards of mainly reisling grapes all over the joint.
