I’ll get to the comments tomorrow. I’m out of time. I spend most of my time working on a new collection of single panel cartoons. Maybe I’ll have it ready by the end of January. I drew those forty years ago and I have to clean them up and get them in shape to publish.

When I was 13 I had a girlfriend named Mary Jane Rollerson. She was my first. She was so very pretty, much too pretty for me, I’m afraid. My mother and my two aunts drove us to a fancy ball sponsored by the Palmetto Women’s Club I think it was. Mary Jane wore a beautiful pink crinoline hoop dress. I gave her a corsage. My mother and my aunts watched the entire ball through a window. Later on we went on a hayride, and she taught me how to kiss. I still miss her.

She was so cute. Freckles and all. But girls grow up faster than boys. I was just a kid and I didn’t kno0w what to do. I can still see her. I was eighth grade and I think she was sevbenth.
