Wednesday, Van Gogh

We went to see the Van Gogh exhibit in Sarasota last week. If you’re interested and you would like to see what it’s like, here’s a four minute video I took. I went to the Van Gogh in Arles exhibit at the MOMA in 1984. The show in Sarasota was good, but it was nothing near as overwhelmingly good as seeing his paintings face to face. There had to be over a hundred at the New York exhibit. I have a poster from that show hung over my fireplace.

The laser show in Sarasota was in a big tent with his animated art work projected on the walls and floor. The tent was divided into two sections, the first smaller one being an introduction to his life and work. Here’s a link to the video from the laser show…
