Robert R liked the statue in Nuuk. There were several. Here are two more:
The next stop was Reykjavik. I had been there about 25 years ago. Much has changed. Near to the hotel where I stayed they built a big church:
I believe tho0se are ice breakers in dry dock.
.
Why is the guy taking a picture of the statues butt? Hope he was not part of your group.
Those ships in dry-dock are actually trawlers, short and fat 😉
The bow of an icebreaker has an angle so the hull is pressed upwards and onto the ice when moving forward, so the weight of the ship breaks up the ice and pushes the broken bits down beneath the remaining ice. This is how it leaves an open passage through the ice.
What do I know?
Looks like they keep their sidewalks plenty wet.
The sun didn’t shine for the three weeks going over.
Great photos – interesting how they paint the buildings bright colors when the sky is so gray – and you noticed. I’ll check out the statue in front of the church.
You had to climb up the hill through the mud and the rocks to get to it. It was some early settler.
Reykjavik, home of the Penis Museum.

Correct. I didn’t go in. They probably would have put me in one of their exhibits.
Hey, didn’t you get the Nuuk key???
Did you kiss the fish?
