Sid attended the University of Bridgeport. It was established on the estate of P. T. Barnum. One of the buildings is Barnum Hall. I just did a little online research. Evidently there’s no evidence that Barnum said “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

This story is from late 2000. When I made this I was thinking of my old friend Jayant Karnick. He was a little guy like Mahatma Coat, from Jabalpur India, and a little bit of a wheeler dealer. Quite a character. He died too young. I miss him.

Notice the lettering. I created font suitcases with four different fonts for each letter, both in lower case and caps. Then I wrote a little routine to rotate through the font suitcases as I typed. The letters are nice, but sometimes the kerning wasn’t quite right. After a year or so I went back to lettering everything by hand. But as I look at this it looks like for this story I didn’t rotate the suitcases.
