Yesterday I said that I’d mention something about Winston Churchill in Comments, and as I mentioned, Frau G has been downsizing lately (my toasters, remember?). Churchill passed away on January 24, 1965. Frau Grace (Not Frau Grace at that time, she was still a fraulein) happened to be in England. She saved a big tribute from the Manchester Evening News and Chronicle.
Now for some important stuff. This was the American replacement for yesterday’s strip about Quacko pooping in the yard:
Westminster College, in Fulton, MO has a Churchill statue and the American museum of Winston Churchill, because that’s where he gave the “Iron Curtain” speech in 1946.
My wife and I were in Missouri, and had to get to St. Louis for our flight home when I saw the Churchill signs. I then made my wife crazy taking a side trip to do a drive-by on the memorial, when she was convinced we were already running late. We made the flight, by the way. Totally worth it.

He was the right man at the right time. Consider the principal allies, Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin. Two out of three ain’t bad.
Did Effie give cooking lessons to the Bearded Lady? That is really scary.
