Norm H also asked for the story where Ernie was changed to Piranha Club.  I had just won the award from the Cartoonist Society for having the best comic strip. What dopes. As part of a new promotion my editor thought it was a good idea if we changed the name of the strip. I didn’t think so, but what the heck, I’m only the cartoonist. The strip remained Ernie in many countries. This is from 1998.

Once my good friend Connie C was in some motel that had a vibrating bed. She put two quarters in the slots and turned it on. It vibrated all night long. She couldn’t get it to turn off.

I remember those beds from when we moved across Canada when I was short. “Magic Fingers” it was called.

In the Netherlands the strip was called ‘Jan Jurk. So it took some figuring out before I found your website.

I’ve been reading the comic every day since. Good stuff!

And thanks for pulling up these old ones. It’s great to see them.
