Tuesday and Where the Heck Have I Been?

Frau G and I just got back from a three week cruise to Hawaii. That’s why I didn’t respond to any emails or comments. I loaded three weeks worth of strips before I left. We got back home Sunday, and I’ve been pretty sick with Covid. I hope to be better in a few days and be back in the saddle again. Here’s some even worse news – I took about a thousand photos and videos. You know what that means.

As for the story, I just sent Ernie to Outer Mongolia…

As I said before, my editor wanted to change the title of the strip. So don’t blame U-No-Hoo.

If you look on Google Maps, you will find that Hogno is only a place name today. Not even a mudflap from a yak’s rear bumper remains. In Street View you will see that a new dirt road bypasses it entirely. Wandering around, you will find a new bridge and a ginormous power pylons.

Goin north, there is Bayandun town. Not one yak to be found. They have been replaced with Subarus.

I could not find the Walmart but all the signs are there.

You can see the old bridge over Hogno Creek. I doubt if it could hold two yaks now, but it’s still standing.

    Ahh, progress…

Glad to hear you are back. Hope you get well soon,

My wife and I got Covid TWICE last year. First was pretty mild, second time we got pretty sick. Soo, take care Bud, hope you got the mild form.

I’ve been pretty sick. I wonder if it would have been worse if I hadn’t had my shots. I think that in a couple days I’ll feel better. I’ve been in quarantine since I got home.

When we got sick the second time, we ended up at Urgent Care. I asked the doc, we’re fully boosted, why did we get sick? He told us, the booster does not prevent you from catching the virus, it helps to fight it off if you do get the virus. I didn’t know that..
