There are four Sunday collections, three versions of each, plus Ebook versions. The first three covers below are what I consider the best of the Sundays. That’s Ernie and the Piranha Club Sunday Brunch, Ernie and the Piranha Club Sunday Brunch #2, and Ernie and the Piranha Club Sunday Brunch #3. Each book contains 165 strips.
Ernie the Early Years Contains 172 Sunday strips from the years 1988-1996. During that period I didn’t have a computer, and so we were coloring the strips on acetate and sending the acetates to a plant in Buffalo NY that made the four color plates (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) that the newspapers used. So I didn’t have color files for those strips. I had to color them from scratch for this collection. It took me about a year.BTW I recolored all the strips in the other books. That wasn’t too time consuming.
The Ernie and the Piranha Club Sundays 2003-2004-2005 book is one that I made before I made the Brunch series. It has all the Sunday strips from those years, 156 strips. None of the strips in that book are included in the Brunch series or the Early book, that is, there are no duplicates in the other four books. The “Collector’s” editions are on very high quality paper, and the hard cover “Collector’s” books are also on the high quality paper and, of course, hard cover. They look really good.
