Monday

Big Mouth Robert R points out that I repeated a post yesterday. I’ll tell you what’s going on. I’ve started coloring old Sundays from before I digitized, and that was 1995 and earlier. There are some good Sunday strip from those years. If I can color two per week, another collection would be ready the first part of 2026. At the same time I’m cataloging all the Sundays. That is a pain in the keister. It’s easy for an old goat like moi to screw up. Time for another tune up. I’m posting the strip that I was supposed to post yesterday. And then a new dailies story.

I know I am nit picky but it would be nice if the original publish date was shown. The only evidence of time is if Ernie has hair on his upper lip. As there is no Ernie in the strip above I am clueless. I am more clueless than the governor in Blazing Saddles .

It is a lot of talk about AI this days. CanĀ“t you find an app that fixes the problem?
What if you could say: digitize it, color it and catalog it – NOW to the computer and lean back sipping a G/T?

I’m sure it could be done. But I’m not smart enough to do it. How we do it in the business is we select the colors – for example, Ernie’s hair which is an orange. Then we have to close the contours on the line drawing. That’s like closing the corral door so the horse can’t get out. Then using Photoshop we fill the closed contours with the selected colors. Then I have to restore the original line drawing. I’ll tell you what, I’ll make a screen recording of me doing it. I’ll try to find time next week.
