I was just listening to some Homer and Jethro on YouTube and I came across this album cover. So recognizable as by Jack Davis. I met Jack a few times way back when. That man sure could draw! He was a little bit off though. If you’re a H&J fan you know that Jethro Burns played the mandolin. And he was about the best there was. I saw him on Hee Haw not long before he passed on.
I only know the names Homer and Jethro from the Spike Jones record “Pal-Yat-Chee” [1], and funnily enough Jack Davis drew a couple of Spike Jones album covers too. I think I must have noticed the signature because I recognized the name from MAD Magazine. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to place the style. Heck, at that age I was still wondering who the heck “///QRT Drucker” was.
