Whew!

We got lucky. The center of the storm was 15 miles south of us. We have a southern exposure, and if it had gone up Tampa Bay it would have been much worse. We were right on the northern edge of the eye, and the wind shear had made it not so well defined. Minimal damage to our house. Pool screens were torn, My fence is leaning in places, lost a small tree, and my little gumbo limbo has no leaves. My one remaining large palm is history.

We had evacuated to my sister-in-law’s condo. The worst damage was to my car. You can see the tail end of it on the far left under the collapsed roof of the carport. Back window was smashed plus other damage.

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement.

I’m so glad you are both okay! I have been checking your blog every day hoping everything was alright! I know how hurricanes can be, my dad was in the Air Force, and we were stationed in the Philippines 3 times. I have been through several typhoons. They are very frightening!! Hope you can get things fixed quickly and back to normal very soon! Take Care!

Glad to hear that you’re alright … albeit with some damage from the storm. The stuff can be repaired/replaced … you’re irreplaceable, Bud! Happy to hear that you’re safe and well.

With all of that damage, I hate to day that you’re lucky – but you have your health. Money can fix what’s damaged. So glad that you’re OK – been checking every day for a report.

Glad you came out of it “well”. Take care! Love your strip.
