The president of King Features syndicate back the was a guy named Joe D’Angelo. He was a really nice guy, and his wife, Marcia, was a real gem. My editor was a terrifically talented young man named Jay Kennedy. Along wth me, I had put both Jay and Joe in my strip. Joe appeared as Ernie’s boss at the Squidburger restaurant, and Jay had appeared as my editor. ( Actually Jay had appeared in the middle of the story about Effie, the one that I posted over the past four weeks. It broke the continuity, so I left it out this time.) Well one day Marcia said to me “My Treasure, (She called me her “Treasure”) Joe and Jay and others have appeared in the comics, but I never have”. So I drew this little story…
