Coilico is at the northern tip of Lake Como. One great thing about Italy and most of Europe is that you can get almost anywhere on the train. Like we did to Colico.
Wonderful! I too have used trains to get around Italy and thoroughly enjoyed my travels. I’ve taken a train around Lake Como to get the Bernina Express from Tirano to Chur. Gorgeous views … lovely trip.
I was impressed with the trains. In 2012 we took a train from Zurich to Milan. The Swiss train was immaculate. Then we got to the border and had to switch to an Italian train. It was about as nice as a Brooklyn subway. Nothing like that on this trip. The trains were modern and clean. And we took a bunch of them and weren’t disappointed.
Beautiful beach area – and your comment about trains is so true. I’ve used trains in Germany, Norway and England. Easy to use and efficient. Thanks for the photos – you do capture the spirit of the places you visit.

It was such a nice clean beach. I liked seeing the people swimming with swans.
